EL GRANADA
Our picturesque coastal communities stretch along Highway 1 between San Francisco to the north, and Santa Cruz to the south. Highway 92 is the primary east-west connection to our community.
Known as "The Jewel of the Coastside," El Granada was originally planned as a resort community, the likes of which would rival Atlantic City. Fortunately, the failure of the railroad aborted those grandiose plans. Today, the hustle and bustle is foot traffic exploring the seafood restaurants, quaint shops, and architecturally stunning weekend cottages dotting the hillsides above the Pacific Ocean.
To explore Pillar Point Harbor, go to the intersection of Highway 1 and Capistrano. Inside the harbor is a full-service marina, stores, and restaurants. View the whales up close and personal on a morning or afternoon ocean jaunt, or try your hand at deep sea fishing. Eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the finest seafood restaurants on the coast. Buy some fresh caught fish from our local fishermen. Then take time to meander through the harbor and watch a majestic sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
